Polished Test & Compliance Engineer – R&D + Client

The Company:
 
Currently making waves in power electronics, this award winning manufacturer export a full range of power and control systems around the world for use in industrial, domestic and commercial applications. With production ramping up and new developments on the way, they are in need of a polished Test & Compliance Engineer to join the team as the current post holder is headed off travelling.
 
The Role:
 
This is a dynamic test role focused on improving, innovating and refining the process and involves working alongside the software, hardware and mechanical teams to ensure that:  

  • The goods meet international standards.
  • Any future problems are minimised.
  • Products are as robust and effective as practicable.
  • The whole process gets better over time.
  • Customers challenges are met.

 
You would sit between R&D and Manufacture, where you would get involved at various stages of the design to deal with immediate problems, pre-empt future issues and check the parameters for compliance. You will then take this information and collaborate with the Design Engineers to make improvements to the final product.
 
The other aspect of this role is showcasing products and test systems to customers, so you will need to be ready to show off and share your good work with visitors.
 
You:
 
To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Cross discipline experience/knowledge – this role involves elements of Electrical, Electronics, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing.
  • Ability to solve multidisciplinary issues.
  • Experience of setting up test systems and processes.
  • A creative yet practical approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 
The following are not mandatory, but it would be highly advantageous if you had experience of:

  • Design for manufacture (DFM). 
  • Using Labview or similar for test automation.
  • High efficiency circuits.
  • Advanced power control systems.
