We are therefore looking to appoint a Senior Software Engineer in their modern Christchurch Offices.

 

The Role:

In this position, you will be pivotal in designing and implemented embedded software solutions for a range of complex devices in the pipeline.

 

Working closely with the software development you will have the task of creating and maintaining advanced embedded systems incorporated in to a range of products.

 

This will require you to;

• liaise with other parties to identify the need or issue
• develop a pragmatic and effective solution
• collaborate with other teams to optimise the design or submit for peer review.
• design or oversee design of the approved solution.
• Implement and commission the chosen solution.
• develop appropriate support documentation
• provide ongoing support for existing applications.

 

Thus is a collaborative position and you will be expected to confer with and advise / mentor those working within the company on areas of differing expertise.  Some of these people may be located in other countries and offices.

 

In a senior capacity you will also have the responsibility to drive continuous improvement of the products, product development processes and capabilities of the organisation as a whole.

 

You:

This role requires a senior engineer with typically over five years experience in software/embedded systems design and some significant projects in place.

This would suit someone who has achieved success in developing robust systems for high volume manufacture.

 

Requirements

• BE / B.Eng or BSc. to NZ Level
• Typically 5 years Embedded experience
• Proven abilities in problem solving
• Sound understanding of network standards and protocols development gained from direct experience.
• Advanced English (to presentation report level)
• Advanced Numerical Skills

 

Software Experience:

• GNU Make
• Embedded ‘C’
• C
• Assembler Code
• BASH Scripting

 

Operating System:

• Linux (or similar Unix-like OS)
