Our client is an international technology company that specialise in providing data, voice and media communications solutions.

Their operations here in Christchurch is the group's largest development centre producing some of the company's leading edge products.

 

Business in good and improving and we have been asked to come up with four capable, keen and talented graduate engineers.

The Role:

 

This is a graduate role and your first task will be to get to grips with the various existing protocols and standards in the industry.

 Secondly, you will be using your software talents to design and maintain better, faster and more sustainable systems for the future.

 

As a design engineer, you will become involved in developing quality software components.  This involves understanding and implementing good design principles, coding up, and testing / commissioning these elements.

 

You will be:

• Designing to meet standards
• Protoyping Designs
• Submitting components for review
• Analysing systems to improve
• Reviewing projects
• Collaborating with others
• Testing systems for compliance
• Documenting results

 

 

Although you will be working primarily within the software team, you will also liaise with the hardware engineers, test engineers and management.  This will give you invaluable experience in the production of work-class high technology products.

You:

 

You will be well qualified and a talented engineer with a proven interest in software design. You will be a team player, happy to exchange and learn with other like-minded professionals.

 

You will enjoy producing robust and effective design and take a personal interest in the development of the products, the team and the company.

 

 

You will possess:

 

• A Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering (or related field)
• Ideally experience in both hardware and software aspects of embedded systems
• Network configuration skills
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Current permission to work in New Zealand.
• Linux skills
