The Role:

This is a high-level position covering testing, analysis and design of structures; the balance of these will depend on your skills and experience. Broadly speaking, this will involve examining earthquake damage to existing structures to determine structural integrity and establish viability. You will then use this information to assist in the development of solutions, be that remedial work or new building design.

As an expert in your field, you will bring advanced technical skills to the team and take pride in a detailed, forensic approach to your work. Operating at a Senior level, you would also be involved in sharing knowledge with more junior Engineers.

You:

Key requirements:

Good experience of investigation / damage assessment /repair work with commercial and/or multi-storey structures.
Seismic design experience.
There is a strong focus on reporting in this role, so excellent report writing experience coupled with perfect written and spoken English is a must.
At least 5 – 6 years served in a similar role.

The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:

Familiar with New Zealand building techniques.
Chartered Engineer.
Experience with ETABS/SAP.

Acoustic Engineer / Acoustical Consultant – Senior

With the Acoustics side of the business expanding, they are seeking an experienced Senior Acoustic Engineer to join the existing team.

The Role:

This is a diverse role which would see you as the Lead Engineer on your projects and acting as the in-house Acoustics expert. A typical day may involve getting out on site to record reverberation, harmonics etc., design work or client meetings. Working across a variety of projects, from industrial through to hospitality and commercial, you will be providing expertise for both new and existing buildings.

You will need to be able to understand the acoustics within a building - as well as typical building materials – and be skilled in the use of specialist equipment in order to offer effective design solutions to clients.

You:

Key requirements:

5- 10 years’ experience – either exclusively in Acoustics or perhaps from a Mechanical background.

Confidence and experience in designing acoustics solutions.

Ability to integrate with a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent organisation and communication skills.

Membership of ASNZ (or able to qualify).

Knowledge of Environmental Acoustics would be beneficial, but is not essential.

The Role:

This is a dynamic test role focused on improving, innovating and refining the process and involves working alongside the software, hardware and mechanical teams to ensure that:

The goods meet international standards.
Any future problems are minimised.
Products are as robust and effective as practicable.
The whole process gets better over time.

You would sit between R&D and Manufacture, where you would get involved at various stages of the design to deal with immediate problems, pre-empt future issues and check the parameters for compliance. You will then take this information and collaborate with the Design Engineers to make improvements to the final product.

The other aspect of this role is showcasing products and test systems to customers, so you will need to be ready to show off and share your good work with visitors.

To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

Cross discipline experience/knowledge – this role involves elements of Electrical, Electronics, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing.
Ability to solve multidisciplinary issues.
Experience of setting up test systems and processes.
A creative yet practical approach.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The following are not mandatory, but it would be highly advantageous if you had experience of:

Design for manufacture (DFM).
Using Labview or similar for test automation.

You:

Absolutely essential to both roles is significant contract management experience, 10 years plus and an in depth knowledge of NZS3910. Possibly the next step up for a solid intermediate contracts manager with relevant knowledge and expertise. NZ experience absolutely essential.
