Operations Manager - Leading NZ Manufacturer

The Client:

Providing total façade solutions for large commercial and institutional buildings across New Zealand, our client is a highly successful manufacturing business. They are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager for their Christchurch facility.

Currently headquartered in Auckland, they have won a number of significant commercial contracts in Christchurch and have recognised a need for a dedicated base in the region to meet the demands of current and upcoming work.   
 
The Job:
 
With the Christchurch facility in the very early stages, your role will initially involve overseeing plant set up and putting in the infrastructure for the Manufacturing, Logistics and Installation teams. Once up and running, you will have full responsibility for the leadership and management of all aspects of the operation.
 
You:
 
We are looking for a driven, quality-orientated individual who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and muck in where required to exceed client expectations.
 
To be successful in this role, you will need the ability to operate an effective and profitable production/ installation operation in the commercial construction sector to the highest of standards. You will also possess strong interpersonal skills coupled with an open, collaborative approach towards colleagues and clients.
 
Ideally you will have previously managed a relevant manufacturing plant and have  experience of:
 

  • Plant set up and procurement
  • Managing a structured team
  • Budget / financial management
  • Quality and health & safety processes
 
 
Knowledge of the construction market would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
