The Company:
Ignite Architects are a leading international, award-winning practice of talented innovators providing architectural and interior services as well as asset management. A design-focused practice working on large commercial projects, they are seeking a Senior Architect to establish and lead their new office in Central Christchurch.

The Role:
In short? Leading the growth of the Christchurch office in order to cater for both current and upcoming projects.

Supported by the Auckland office, you will be the main point of contact for Ignite’s South Island projects.  You will be spearheading the provision of first stage design services to Christchurch clients, with the majority of work channelled through Auckland while the Christchurch office takes shape.

At the heart of this role is the ability to manage the design process and maintain highly effective working relationships with all parties including the client.  While design studies, presentation work, CAD, specification and administration will be provided to support you, your focus will be ensuring the client is well advised and the project stays on track.

Many of the projects are for corporate clients and developers with multiple stakeholders and purposes.

You:
This position would suit an autonomous, business-minded Architect with a solid commercial design background and a desire to be a part of the Christchurch rebuild action. You should have a good technical knowledge base, ideally with experience of Revit and / or BIM.

You will also need to meet the following requirements:

New Zealand Registered Architect
At least 8 years' relevant experience in commercial architecture
Ability to deal confidently with clients and other stakeholders
The proven ability to work effectively with corporate clients.

Any experience working with parties involved in the Christchurch rebuild will be a positive advantage, but with the level of demand, we will balance this with a good portfolio, personal attributes and ambition.

Why apply?
For the self-motivated Architect looking at the smartest alternative to setting up out on their own, this is an avenue that definitely merits immediate investigation. Combining the opportunity to run your own office with the support of one of New Zealand’s architectural heavyweights, you have the opportunity to get the best of both worlds.
