Acoustic Engineer / Acoustical Consultant – Senior

Structural Engineer

Christchurch, New Zealand

52327

The Company:

A highly-respected, successful multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, approaching their 80th year in Christchurch. Loyalty and diversity within their client base has meant that post-earthquake Rebuild work has brought growth to an already steadily increasing list of projects. With the Acoustics side of the business expanding, they are seeking an experienced Senior Acoustic Engineer to join the existing team.

The Role:

This is a diverse role which would see you as the Lead Engineer on your projects and acting as the in-house Acoustics expert. A typical day may involve getting out on site to record reverberation, harmonics etc., design work or client meetings.  Working across a variety of projects, from industrial through to hospitality and commercial, you will be providing expertise for both new and existing buildings.

You will need to be able to understand the acoustics within a building - as well as typical building materials – and be skilled in the use of specialist equipment in order to offer effective design solutions to clients.

You:

Key requirements:

  • 5- 10 years’ experience – either exclusively in Acoustics or perhaps from a Mechanical background.
  • Confidence and experience in designing acoustics solutions.
  • Ability to integrate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Membership of ASNZ (or able to qualify).
  • Knowledge of Environmental Acoustics would be beneficial, but is not essential.

This role would suit a Senior (or experienced Intermediate) Acoustic Engineer who enjoys an integrated team environment and running their own projects. To aid this, excellent mentoring and management opportunities are available to the right candidate.
