Senior Structural Engineer

The Company:
 
A global expert in structural analysis and design with a presence across 5 continents, our client houses bright, talented engineers who bring together modern techniques and design expertise. Actively involved in post-earthquake Rebuild work, their team combine global expertise with local connections.
 
Currently they are in need of a Senior Structural Engineer with solid experience of investigation / forensic assessments and seismic design.
 

 
The Role:
 
This is a high-level position covering testing, analysis and design of structures; the balance of these will depend on your skills and experience. Broadly speaking, this will involve examining earthquake damage to existing structures to determine structural integrity and establish viability. You will then use this information to assist in the development of solutions, be that remedial work or new building design.
 
As an expert in your field, you will bring advanced technical skills to the team and take pride in a detailed, forensic approach to your work. Operating at a Senior level, you would also be involved in sharing knowledge with more junior Engineers.
 
 
You:
 
Key requirements:
 

  • Good experience of investigation / damage assessment /repair work with commercial and/or multi-storey structures.
  • Seismic design experience.
  • There is a strong focus on reporting in this role, so excellent report writing experience coupled with perfect written and spoken English is a must.
  • At least 5 – 6 years served in a similar role.

 
The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:
 

  • Familiar with New Zealand building techniques.
  • Chartered Engineer.
  • Experience with ETABS/SAP.
